Dr. Liu received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Shandong University, China, in 2005 and 2010 respectively.

Work experience

Dr. Liu has completed the Postdoctoral trainings at Shandong University, Newcastle University in UK and Emory University in USA. He is currently a Professor at Southeast University, and is served as the Director of Wearable Heart-Sleep-Emotion Intelligent Monitoring Lab in Southeast University, leading the research works on cardiovascular signals processing, machine learning, medical device development and clinical applications, including individual monitoring, critical care, homecare, emotion and sleep studies etc.

He was the PI on 10+ awarded grants attracting a total of over $1.5 million. He has published more than 120 SCI indexed Journal papers, 30+ invention patents. He won the 20th PhysioNet/CinC Challenge 2019, the only Lenovo Young Scientist title in 2017, the Outstanding Contribution Award from the MIT PhysioNet, the second prize for Technological Invention award of Shandong Province in 2016. He is now a Federation Journal Committee Member of IFMBE, the chair for China Physiological Signal Challenge, an Associate Editor for JMMB and JMIHI, an International Advisory Board Member for PMEA, etc. His research topics include: wearable ECG, fetal ECG, blood pressure, heart sound measurements, intelligent monitoring, machine learning and big data processing for physiological signals, device development for CADs, sleep and emotion monitoring.
