On March 31, 2023, Dr. Xiaojian Li, a senior engineer at the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was invited to visit the Institute of Robot Sensing and Control Technology at the School of Instrument Science and Engineering, Southeast University. He gave an academic presentation entitled The new toolchain development for Brain Machine Interface study in animal model in the school conference room, which attracted many teachers and students from our college and other colleges.
In the report, Dr. Li described the whole technology chain of invasive brain-computer interface technology and neural regulation technology.Regarding the full technology chain of brain-machine interface, he shared his team's achievements in the fields of intracranial flexible interfaces, high-throughput neural information acquisition systems, animal experimental paradigm design, and neural decoding algorithm design. In terms of neural regulation, he shared the details of his team's new optical nano-neuromodulation technology published in Nature BME in 2022.
During the exchange session, the attendees engaged discussed with Dr. Li about issues related to neural learning and neural regulation. Through discussions and exchanges, sparks of inspiration were discovered, which provided new inspiration for the application of robot sensing and control technology in the field of rehabilitation in our institute. After the lecture, Dr. Li visited the Institute of Robot Sensing and Control Technology and expressed a strong desire to establish further collaboration with our institute.
