Jiancheng Fang received his doctorate from Southeast University in 1996. In 1997, he entered Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, served as vice-president of the School of astronautics, president of the School of Instrument Science and Photoelectric Engineering. He became executive vice-president of Bejing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in January 2019.
He is mainly engaged in the research of Spacecraft attitude control magnetic suspension inertia actuator and inertial navigation technology. He has won the State Technological Invention Award first prize and second prize and placed second in the National Science and Technology Progress Award. Besides, he is the gainer of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of China, Cheung kong Scholars distinguished professor, Director of National key laboratory of inertial technology, Director general of the Sino-British joint laboratory for space science and technology.
