Introduction to the Institute of Vehicle Safety and Virtual Reality Technology
Director: Prof. Xu Li
The Institute of Vehicle Safety and Virtual Reality, relying on Southeast University's dual-class discipline "Instrument Science and Technology", is mainly engaged in the research on modern vehicle measurement and control technology, automatic driving, intelligent transportation/smart car system, virtual reality and Internet of Things. It is one of the earliest institutions for developing vehicle and other mobile carrier measurement and control technology. It has developed a number of domestic first measurement and control evaluation equipment. There are now 3 Professors, 3 Associate professors and 4 Lecturers in the institute.
In recent years, our institute has more than 20 national projects, including National Science and Technology Major Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, National Key Research and Development Project, Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, Program of National Science and Technology Support, Program of General Armament Department, Program of Key R&D Program of Jiangsu Province, Program of Social Development Foundation of Jiangsu National Science and Technology Support Project and so on.
Our institute has published more than 40 papers indexed by SCI, including nearly 15 papers rank Q1 or Q2 in the quartile of Chinese Academy of Sciences, applied for more than 80 national invention patents, and owns more than 50 national invention patent grants. Besides, our institute has leaded or participated in the formulation of 4 national industry standards. In recent 5 years, we have received 2 time of the first prizes and 2 times of the second prizes of the provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological progress awards. For international cooperation, we have established long-term stable cooperative relations with the University of California, Berkeley, University of Pennsylvania, University of Michigan, and so on.
