Course Description:

The main objective of this course is to deliver basic GNSS principle and applications to master students and train students to have the ability to develop location based systems. After learning the course, those students should be able to understand the system composition, characteristics and applications of GNSS, and the state-of-the-art of GNSS and the recent advance, and students should have the ability to apply the learned technology into real application and science and technological research. More than that, students should learn those general skills on how to analyze and resolve a real problem, and the same time evaluate the functionalities and performance of your solution.

The detailed schedule is as follows:

Week 1: Introduction

Week 2: The principle of GPS positioning and velocity measurement

Week 3: Geographic coordinate and transferring

Week 4: GPS navigation message

Week 5: Error analysis and the strategy to mitigate

Week 6: World-wide GNSS system

Week 7: introduction of NMEA0183 and the parse strategy

Week 8: DGPS and CORS

Week 9: GPS/GIS/RS integration theory

Week 10: Integrated navigation theory and its application

Week 11: Practical software engineering for GPS

Week 12: Review and refreshment
